November 29th:

Yesterday
	5:13pm	Good morning! It’s 1C here in cloudy Paris, warming up for a maximum of 3C! Well I’ll be indoors, in airports, planes, cars, hotels mostly.
	5:32pm	This morning I’ll be packing my bags, and at lunch time going to the airport, to make my way to the UK. Flight goes via Zurich!
	5:33pm	Then at LHR I have a chauffeur car picking me up to drive me down to Eastbourne. So it’s a transition day!
	5:44pm	Leave Paris today for the UK. Au revoir, belle Paris!
	7:20pm	All my bags are packed I’m ready to go, The dawn is breakin’ it’s early morn. I’m leavin’ on a jet plane. Don’t know when I’ll be back again

November 28th:

Yesterday
	5:17pm	Well apparently it’s 1C, heading for a high of 4C! Another brrrr day. And my feet are tired to start the day – sore walking even on carpet!
	5:19pm	I’ll visit Wendy briefly this morning, then not sure what. It’s my last full day here so have to make the most of it. First, brekky.
	6:36pm	oh I see the forecast has changed and it’s now going to be warmer – up to 6C! well heading out into the elements…
Today
	2:15am	Spent some time with Wendy this morning at her apartment, trying some of the gorgeous cake & sponge fingers & chocolate she had made.
	2:16am	The walked from there to the Arc de Triomphe (about 10 minutes walk away), then over to the Seine, to Musee Branly (saw the vertical garden)
	2:18am	then from there back to St Germain, to Rue de Buci. Now, not only do my feet hurt from blisters but they ache with every step.
	2:19am	I’ve had to get some drops – my eyes are red from cold breezes irritating them. it’s been cold again, particularly in open areas – the
	2:20am	back streets are better. Despite the physical ailments it has been another superb day in this amazing city. Now where to go for dinner for
	2:20am	my last main meal here? Will be leaving the hotel about noon tomorrow to head to the airport.
	2:22am	Apparently it’s 3C now, and it’s only 4pm. Any wonder it has felt chilly! There’s been low cloud most of the day, but now I can see little
	2:23am	blue sky up there, but the sun will be set by 5pm.
	2:26am	Wendy’s cakes this morning were amazing. The cake was a 3-chocolate layer mousse cake which melted in your mouth. The sponge fingers were
	2:27am	incredibly light. And the chocolates were a truffle (dark & rich) and one with almond in the middle.
	2:42am	Well I didn’t make it to Rue Cler, Montmartre, Les Puces de Ouens, the canals, and so many other places I’d like to see.
	2:42am	The cold has meant not sitting around in parks, but keeping moving to keep warmer.
	2:43am	But I have experience so many delights.. had lunch in a quaint bistro, had coffee on Place de la Contrescarpe, seen the lights at night,
	2:44am	seen some of the paintings I love at the Musee d’Orsay and the L’Orangerie, and so much more.

November 27th:

Yesterday
	5:38pm	Hello world! It’s now 0C outside, but I’m warm & cosy in the hotel with a hot cup of Kusmi English Breakfast tea.
	5:39pm	Not sure what I’m doing today (apart from dinner with Wendy) – yesterday turned out so lovely it would be hard to top that!
	5:40pm	But anything is good. So many places I haven’t seen yet this trip.
	5:42pm	The Rue Mouffetard markets are on today, so maybe I’ll head down that way, & see the Jardin du Luxembourg (& have coffee at Delmas).
Today
	12:39am	Brrr. Been very cold all day – something like 1C.
	12:43am	Been along rue Mouffetard – market day – & to the always beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg.
	12:46am	Eating a baguette with chevre & walnuts, followed by a chocolate eclair for lunch.
	12:48am	Back at the hotel to get warm & add another layer before heading out again
	5:26am	Had dinner out with Wendy at a Japanese restaurant. Mmmm. Ramen. Good to see her again.

	8:14am	Have uploaded some photos of the day. Another good day. Can imagine the Jarden des Plantes being lovely in summer.
	8:17am	But I still love the Jardin du Luxembourg, even in winter it’s still beautiful, a restful place to spend time, with lots of space.

	8:14pm	A late start after a late night uploading photos.
	8:18pm	Heading off to the Marais today (I think!) It looks grey and gloomy, so wonder if there’ll be rain.
	10:11pm	Am in the Place des Vosges. Always elegant. Grey & gloomy skies, but good to be here

	12:06am	Greg, merci beaucoup pour le tip: je suis a L’Etoile Manquette dans la rue Vielle du Temple! C’est superbe!
	3:17am	I get back to the hotel after walking all day with numb feet. Tired, but they feel like blocks of wood!
	3:19am	What a day, though! Wandered around the Marais, including the Jewish area, and had a look around the Pompidou Centre.
	3:53am	Tomorrow I’m having dinner with Wendy (I met from Alliance)

	6:18pm	It’s currently right on 0C, but heading up to 7C today. Will probably spend some time at Musee d’Orsay today

	1:03am	Walked my feet off – resting for a few minutes at the Carousel before heading back to the hotel.
	1:05am	Beem mainly at the Musee d’Orsay today – do love it there!
	2:05am	Ahhh. Good tn be back at the hotel & put my feet up for a bit, sipping a good cup of darjeeling.
	2:10am	Saw a demonstration on the way back – blocking the road along the Seine on the Left Bank – with the macarena on loudspeakers!
	3:32am	Now about to head out for a bite to eat. Maybe later go to a concert at the Notre Dame.

Yesterday
	6:00pm	Last evening did go to the organ recital at St Sulpice – wtih music by Boely. Beautiful.
	6:00pm	Then I just walked and walked – looking at the city by night.
	6:01pm	Today? Maybe go to one of the museums open on Monday, but more aimless wandering, exploring, seeing what I can discover!
Today
	1:56am	Back at the hotel to put the feet up a bit. Thankfully the rain has stayed away today, and there has been sun. Busy day.
	1:57am	First went to the Louvre for a few hours – that was enough! – and had lunch there in one of the “restaurants” – a crepe with cider again.
	1:58am	Then to the jardin of the Palais Royal, then along the rue de Rivoli. Went on the big ferris wheel at the end of the Tuileries, with superb
	1:59am	views around Paris, then into the L’Orangerie. Love the Monets there – should always bypass the Louvre and just go straight there!
	2:07am	It’s getting colder, so I’ll put my vest on again under my jacket when I head out again later. Snow flurries are forecast tonight!
	2:23am	There’s good tea (Kusmi – http://www.kusmitea.com/) in my room at the hotel, so I can make a good cuppa whenever I want.

	5:58pm	Slept well and long. The sky is just beginning to lighten at 8am. Will do a bit of writing, then head down to brekky.
	5:59pm	Plan to go to St Sulpice today for Sun AM service, to listen to the organ mini-recital at the end. Who knows what else today!
	6:20pm	Currently it’s -3C outside, going to a maximum of 2C!
	6:24pm	Will have to write some blog entries tonight, but for now it’s going to be quick snatches of detail here on Twitter, with last log on top

We’ve arrived in Paris after a fabulous week in the Loire valley. It was mainly wet and cold, but we still explored the chateaux and villages, and went for drives in the picturesque countryside.

The apartment here in Paris has an internet connection, so we’ll write more another night.

On arriving here we strolled through the Tuileries and then on around past the Louvre. We’ll rest tonight and then head out exploring tomorrow!
